Our Reception and Year 1 children have been deepening and exploring their understanding of number with some fun, Christmas themed activities this week.

Our Year 2 children had a visit from Lancashire Fire and Rescue service today and learnt how to keep safe if there is a fire.

Our Reception superstars started their six week course learning how to ride balance bikes, strengthening their muscles and improving their balance skills. Take a look at these photos from their first session today. 
 

In our gymnastics lessons the children are learning how to travel in different ways using their hands and feet for support. They have been practicing caterpillar walk, frog jumps into a walk and bunny hops.  They have all been learning how to do a tuck jump as well.

Our Reception children have been learning lots of different things in maths recently, measuring, comparing and making patterns. Here are some photographs of the children creating repeating patterns with natural resources outside. 
 

In our Geography lessons we have been learning the names of the seven continents and five oceans of the world. We have been investigating cold places in our quest to decide whether we would prefer to live in a hot or cold place.

We were very lucky this week when Sam, Luca and Rafa’s Daddy came into school to tell us all about his job being a vet. It was a great way to round off our science learning about animals this half term.

We have had ‘the best day ever’ today at Blackpool Zoo! We have been learning about animals in science and hit and cold places in geography so went out on a visit to get some first hand knowledge and experiences.
