Lots of outdoor fun learning in the sunshine today!

After reading this great picture book ‘Our Pebbles’ written and illustrated by Jarvis we decided to make our own pebbles out of clay and decorate them. 

The children have cared for and observed their bean plants grow, they’ve done a great job! Now they’ve taken them home to plant outside and hopefully eat some delicious broad beans later in the summer!

The beans have grown roots and shoots so it’s time to plant them.

We have been learning how to stay safe on the roads this week. The children have completed lots of activities in the classroom and then in small groups we have been for a walk into the village to put all their learning into practise. All the children impressed me with their sensible behaviour and…

A wonderful time was had by all on our visit to the woods at Humblescough Farm. The children enjoyed working in teams to make waterproof dens, cooked S’Mores on the fire, made Japanese art, played hide and seek, designed clay models and learnt how to use flint and steel to make fires!

The class had a very productive morning learning about how to provide first aid when they are at home or out and about with their friends. 
 

They learnt about burns, head bumps, choking wounds, bleeding and breaks and what to do if they have to deal with someone who is unconscious.
