Our Reception children have been learning the rhyme ‘Pat a cake, Pat a cake baker’s man’ so I created an activity where they made dough cakes and marked them with the letters sounds they have been learning in our phonics sessions.
They had great fun practicing lots of skills for fine motor control, using new vocabulary and learning to recognise the letters and say the sound they make.
