Our geography lessons this term are focused around maps, understanding the symbols, grid references and how to read maps.

In our first lesson, we explored Ordinance Survey maps. Children searched for as many symbols as they could find on their maps and copied them down. Once we had found our symbols, we learned how to use the key/legend to find out what our symbols represented. 
 

Next, we will create our own maps and symbols to understand there can be more than one way of representation on a map.
