Taking a closer look at some hyacinth bulbs, asking questions, comparing observations and having new experiences…

At the beginning of term I took into school some pots with tulips and daffodils in them that had not yet flowered. I challenged the children to care for them, guess what flowers may appear and watch as they grew. I also took in a hyacinth plant as we compared the three, size, leaves, petals, scent and learnt that they all grew from a bulb.
