What a wonderful afternoon we had at the Flower Bowl learning the very tricky skills of curling. The children were shown how to brush the ice to make the curling stones move faster and then they learnt how to send the curling stone down the curling rink. It is so much trickier than it looks on the television! There were legs going all over the place! After a short time of practising some of the class really got a hang of the technique and were flying down the rink looking very professional. We finished the session off with a game of get the stone in the target where teams competed against each other to win the most points. The children had to be incredibly accurate and slow when doing this activity or the stones just ended up miles off the target.
We can’t wait for what we will be learning to do next week!
