This week in English, Middle School have been thinking about the purpose of adverts and how they are successful at grabbing attention. 

 

In our story - ‘Stig of the Dump’ by Clive King - Barney and Stig are being very resourceful with items and tools…so we worked on creating adverts to sell various tools including sledgehammers, rope and hatchets.
 

Children have been playing around with adjectives, verbs and adverbs alongside using features of adverts (from rhetorical questions to exaggerative language).

 

I particularly enjoyed the adverts selling their items at 100% off the original price!!! What a bargain!
