What an absolute TREAT we had on Friday afternoon when the fabulous author and illustrator Petr Horáček came to our school! Petr writes and illustrates children’s picture books, he talked to us about how he began drawing and how he creates his stories. Petr had us all giggling and totally captivated by his stories and drawing. He read lots of his brilliant books to us before he read his latest book ‘A Best Friend For Bear’. Before long we had a room full of fabulous looking bears when Petr showed the children how to draw Bear step by step. Thank you Petr for spending your afternoon with us, we loved it!

Take a look at Petr’s website http://petrhoracek.co.uk/ to read more about him and his work, if you go to his blog http://www.petrhoracek.co.uk/blog/ you can read Petr’s latest news and find ‘how to draw’ different animal tutorials.

We were so happy to share the event with the children and staff from St Mary’s Catholic Primary School and Copp C of E Primary School in Great Eccleston. All the children were so well behaved, they are a credit to their teachers and schools. Thank you for joining us.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Elaine Silverwood (Silverwood Events) my lovely friend, who owns the bookshop and cafe Book, Bean and Ice Cream in Kirkham https://www.bookbeanandicecream.co.uk/ (take a look at her website for events happening in the shop). Elaine brought Petr to our little village school free of charge so that our children could have this wonderful experience. Thank you also to Jake Hope who works with Elaine for his help on the day!
