Welcome back and happy 1st June!
What have you been up to during the half term holidays? Please email me and let me know, if you have any photos you’d like to share with your friends please send them and I’ll put some on the blog this week. I have had fun in the sunshine this week, I have been doing some school work and having meetings but also had lovely time with my family. My plants are all growing quickly in the greenhouse and in my pots on the garden. Last year, at the end of the school year, Bethan Gorman gave me a beautiful small rose bush and just this weekend the first roses for this year have come out on it! It makes me smile when I look at it Bethan, as it reminds me of what a fabulous and lovely person you are!
Colour in the garden
It was Mr Proctor’s birthday on Saturday and he had a lovely day. We gave him some new books because, as you know, he loves to read and we bought him some bags of compost and other things for his garden!
Today’s star of the blog is our role play area Percy The Park Keeper’s Hut that we had in Autumn Term in 2018, do you remember playing in it?
Here are your activities to choose from today ...

Reading and Responding
Please look at the plans I have sent to you on an email for today's activities ...
Reception - Your activities this week are all around the fab book Handa’s Surprise! We have read this lovely book together in school, I hope you enjoy learning.
Year 1 - Under The Sea is your theme this week! Today you are going watch and enjoy the song from the film The Little Mermaid called Under the Sea. I can just imagine you singing and dancing whilst you watch this! Then you are going to choose a sea creature and do some research about your chosen creature.
Year 2 - It’s part 2 of your theme Amazing Birds this week. Today you are going to create a riddle about a bird of your choice after doing some research. We have written riddles together before the lockdown first collect facts about your chosen bird, where it lives, what it eats, what it looks like, etc. Also don’t forget the rules, put your hardest clues first and leave your easiest clues until the end. Test your riddle out on your family, you could phone or FaceTime your Grandmas and Grandads, Uncles or Aunts or your cousins and read the clues to them, see if they can guess which bird you are describing!

Topic
This week I would like you to choose your own topic activity every day. It might be something you’ve got an interest in such as gardening and caring for your plants, cooking, baking, art, music or dancing. It might be that you want to do either the Year 1 or 2 lessons on BBC Bitesize or goto the great website called countryside classroom here https://www.countrysideclassroom.org.uk/ and choose something new to learn about and ‘make your brain bigger’! Have fun and don’t forget to tell me what new things you learn this week!
Have a great day!
