Good morning everyone!
Sophia is today's star of the blog! What a great photo Sophia, thank you for sending it in and starting our day with a smile.
Ask your parents to check their emails, there should be a surprise waiting for you! Yesterday I recorded a video of me reading you a story and I have sent a link to you to click, watch and enjoy the story.
New things to look out for on the internet today ... if you enjoy drawing (and I know lots of you do) find Pete Mckee's Cartoon Workshop for beginners on Youtube (remember to stay safe on the internet and only go on youtube when an adult is with you). You can find his first lesson showing how to draw faces here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8f8ag58jDs.
PE with Joe at 9am.
Worship
Please find 'Collective Worship Series//Lent//Bishop Philip' on Youtube there are 7 videos from Bishop Phillip from the Blackburn Diocese of the The Church Of England in Lancashire for you to watch.
Phonics (reading and spelling)
Please have a look at Teach Your Monster To Read https://www.teachyourmonstertoread.com this is also available as an app. It is a great alternative to Phonics Play and if you don't already use it at home I would recommend it!
Reception - start with Game 1: First Steps and then Game 2:Fun with Words
Year 1 - Game 3: Champion Reader
Year 2 you already know all the sounds and learning in these games but that doesn't mean you can't have a play on Game 3 and refresh your memories. It will be good for you all to remind yourself of spellings, have a look today and play a game.
Writing
Today's word of the day is prancing it is a verb (a doing word) and it has the suffix ing on it. Can you write a sentence with the word prancing in it?
Maths
Join the maths party at White Rose Maths Home Learning by clicking on this link https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/. Choose your year group, watch the video first then have a go at the activities. I suggest you do the lessons and then go and do some practical maths ...
Reception - Day 4 - What the ladybird heard - Kim's Game
Year One - Lesson 4 - Step 3 - Add equal groups
Year Two - Lesson 4 - Step 9 - Non-unit fractions
You don't need to print the worksheets out, you can simply tell the adult you are working with the answers to the questions.
Have a lovely day, stay home, stay safe and keep learning.
Mrs Kemp :)
