Good morning everyone, happy 1st of April!
Emily is today's star of the blog! Well done Emily, what a creative idea to bake a chocolate cake and write good morning on it in icing, it looks delicious! I know that you baked and iced this cake all on your own without any help - you superstar!
PE with Joe Wicks at 9am. What other ways are you managing to exercise? Emily has been exercising with Just Dance, William has been exercising out in the garden, Leo has been out for walks by the canal, Harry has been exercising in the garden, Sophia has been doing energetic workouts in their home gym and practising her gymnastics as well as lots of you following the Joe Wicks work outs.
Worship
Please find 'Collective Worship Series//Lent//Bishop Philip' on Youtube (remember to stay safe on the internet and only search on youtube with an adult helping you) there are 7 videos from Bishop Phillip from the Blackburn Diocese of the The Church Of England in Lancashire for you to watch.
Phonics (reading and spelling)
Reception - please do another activity in your phonics booklet.
Year One - please do phonics mat 4 and the sentences.
Year Two - please do the third page (page 4) in your 'Common Exception Words Y2 Activity book' write the sentences in your blue book rather than on the paper in the booklet (I don't think you'll have enough room).
Writing
Today's word of the day is a compound word (that means the word is made of two words that have been pushed together and make sense if they are pulled apart) it is drawstring.
Maths
Join the maths party at White Rose Maths Home Learning by clicking on this link https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/.
Choose your year group, watch the Flashback video first and answer the questions before you have a go at the activities.
Reception - Day 3 - What the ladybird heard
Year One - Lesson 3 - Step 2 - Make equal groups
Year Two - Lesson 3 - Step 8 - Unit fractions
You don't need to print the worksheets out, you can write the answers on a piece of paper or tell the adult you are working with the answers to the questions.
Have a lovely day, stay home, stay safe and keep learning.
Mrs Kemp :)

HAPPY APRIL LOWER SCHOOL!
I think Mrs.Kemp's idea to feature your pictures each day as 'stars of the blog' is fantastic!
Ada - What a colourful good morning. I'm glad you're enjoying being outdoors.
Tommy - Wow! What a high jump. I bet you almost touched the clouds in the sky.
Emily - Beautiful cake. You are such a clever baker to have made that without any help.
Did anybody spot Wise Owl in Joe Wicks' P.E lesson this morning? He was dressed in a wizards hat whilst reading a book. I hope you're all practicing your phonics and reading skills at home too. I wonder what all the other learning heroes are up to. . . Maybe you could make up a story about the adventures they're all having. I bet they haven't stayed in the basket by the windowsill - they love learning and having fun!
Keep smiling.
Miss. Haynes :-)
