Good morning everyone!

Today's star of the blog is Tommy! Thank you for this fabulous photo Tommy, you are jumping so high on your trampoline!

Some of you have emailed and asked how Mr Proctor is, he is very well and he has asked me to send you this message,

"I miss all of you very much and I hope you are reading lots of books."

New things to take a look at on the internet today ...

The San Diego Zoo has a website just for children with amazing videos, activities and games https://kids.sandiegozoo.org/

If you are interested in planets you can explore the surface of Mars on the Curiosity Rover here https://www.nps.gov/

Play games and learn about animals on this site https://switchzoo.com

Harry emailed me a video and photos showing me he has been learning French - tres bien Harry! Sophia emailed me to tell me she has practised and now can do a pull up on her chin up bar without any help, brilliant! Maddison has done lots of baking weighing out the ingredients and learning lots. Leo and his brother Ben have a pet lamb each at home now and are looking after them themselves. What other subjects and topics have you been learning?

Remember to stay safe on the internet- always have an adult with you when you are looking at a new site and if anything pops up on your screen that you are unsure of ALWAYS take it straight to and show an adult, don't click on any links.

Are you ready for PE at 9am with Joe Wicks?

Phonics (reading and spelling)

Please choose an activity on Phonics play to do today.

What books have you been reading? I know lots of you have logged into Oxford Owl and have been enjoying reading the stories, well done. Yesterday I had an email from Leo who has read a non-fiction book on Oxford Owl about birds and then chosen to do some writing about birds telling me an amazing fact. He did this instead of the activity I had suggested for the learning, what a GREAT idea Leo choosing your own topic to write about using something you were interested in!

Writing

Today's word of the day is energetic.  It is an adjective it describes how you are doing something. Can you make the word by cutting out the letters for the word from old newspapers or magazines?  Can you find its 'dictionary neighbours' - which word comes before and which word comes after it in a dictionary?

Maths

Join the maths party at White Rose Maths Home Learning by clicking on this link https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/.

Choose your year group, watch the Flashback video first and answer the questions before you have a go at the activities. I suggest you do the lessons and if you discover you need more practice at any of the learning you can then do some more afterwards.

Reception - Day 2 - What the ladybird heard - Talking together

Year One - Lesson 2 - Step 1 - Count in 10s

Year Two - Lesson 2 - Step 7 - Find a third

You don't need to print the worksheets out, you can write the answers with to the questions on a piece of paper or in your blue book.

Have a lovely day, stay home, stay safe and keep learning. Keep emailing me your photographs, your learning and your smiling faces!

Mrs Kemp :)
