Our Year 1 and 2 children are busy developing their understanding of place value at the moment. They have been learning how to groups tens and ones to help themselves solve problems with number.

Today they played a game when one child created a representation of a number less than 50 using base 10 whilst hiding it behind a book from their partner. They then told their partner how many tens and ones they had laid out and their partner’s challenge was to draw the correct amount of tens and ones. They did so well and enjoyed their learning!
