Lower School were thoroughly immersed into one of our September reads -  'Meerkat Mail' by Emily Gravett.

We asked questions, made predictions, talked about the story, retold the events and used lots of drama to explore the character's feelings (which are shared brilliantly in the story through a series of postcards).

We took our learning outside and set out on our very own journey like Sunny the Meerkat. We were all TOO CLOSE at first and so needed to find the perfect place to live. On our journey, we stayed with mongoose relatives, itched a lot because of all of the bugs, we ate lots of eggs, discovered Madagascar, wished we had an umbrella in the rain...and started to become very cold, wet, hungry and tired. We wanted to go home like Sunny!

So we did! What a celebration!! 'Stay together and stay safe!'

Meet the Lower School Meerkats!!
