Today was our final lesson in our Creative Games series of learning. Over the past few weeks, we have practised dribbling, passing and throwing with basketballs, footballs and rugby balls in a series of different games - including games with attackers and defenders and the need to outwit your opponents.
For our final lesson, we focused on the skills required to send and receive a rugby ball but Upper School were given the opportunity to discuss, change and add in ideas to make game play different. Children were provided with a path of cones, a selection of bibs and a few ideas. From there, each team created their own game involving varying numbers of defenders who needed to collect the tags (bibs) from their opposition and varying numbers of attackers who needed to score points for tries.
Throughout the lesson, children had to listen for different audio signals, follow different instructions, listen to one another, create challenge, show resilience, outwit opponents and ultimately, work together on a shared goal. Corey and I were so proud of them all!
