To progress in our DT project of designing a bag, children spent their DT lesson learning some different sewing techniques.
They used sewing boards and thread to create patterns and practice some of the stiches we may end up using for our projects.

We learned:
A running stitch

An overstitch

A blanket stitch

We found that a running stitch was the easiest to do, but it could fall apart the easiest.
An overstitch was a little trickier, but it held together one of the strongest.
A blanket stitch was very difficult, only some of us managed it! However, it is a very strong and also looked very nice!
