Last week we received a letter from Mrs Billington our school cook asking us to help her design a new wrap for the school lunch menu. Naturally we said yes, of course we will help!
The design brief was to create a healthy wrap. It must contain a protein, carbohydrate, vegetable or fruit and a dairy product. The children must like the taste of it and finally the ingredients must not be expensive.
So the first thing we decided to do was revisit our science learning and remind ourselves all about the different food groups, how they keep us healthy and how much of them we should eat. We chatted and shared knowledge about what we already knew, asked questions about what we wanted to find out then set about researching the answers.
