In our maths lessons we have rounded off our 3D shapes topic by looking at and constructing some nets.
Children learned that the faces on 3D shapes comprise of 2D shapes that are folded together.
We carefully cut around various shapes and tried our best to stick them together! It was much trickier than we thought!
It took lots of skill to be able to estimate where each face of the shape would fold to.
Our shapes varied from triangular prisms and tetrahedrons all the way to icosahedrons and dodecahedrons!
Once the children had made their 3D shapes, they could use their skills to make their very own minecraft block!
