Our week began excitedly recounting their experiences of Bonfire Night and lots of them enjoyed fireworks, bonfires and family fun.
We have been using our senses all week as we remembered the experiences of Bonfire Night, listened to beautiful music composed by George Frideric Handel and danced. It has been magical!
When we listened to Handel’s ‘Music for the Royal Fireworks’ I asked the children to listen and think how the music made them feel and what it made them think about ...
‘Calm’ Duke
’peaceful’ Alex
‘relaxing’ Maddison
’happy’ Wilf
’like I’m inside a movie’ Nathaniel
’running miles away’ Ben
’on a wave’ Isabella
’like I’m swinging on a branch’ Connor
’in a circus’ Alex
’at a wedding in a castle’ Maddison
’makes me feel like I’m in a fair’ Duke
’it’s like I’m in a game’ Reuben
In our dance the children used streamers as if they were the light shooting from fireworks and moved in lots of different ways pretending to be different fireworks. They put their movements together in a sequence and performed short dances, it was a lot of fun!
Well done everyone.
