Our Reception children have been learning about matching and sorting in maths using lots of different resources. I think their favourite activity has been matching and sorting the socks into pairs after ‘washing’ them in our new Casdon Toys washing machine!  Not only did the children talk about the patterns they saw in the socks, what was the same and what was different about them before matching them into pairs but they also improved their fine motor skill strength by placing the socks together and folding them up into pairs.

The Year 1 and 2 children also had fun with the washing machine and socks by using them to practise counting in 2s as well as doing some practical addition and subtraction.

Great learning Lower School!
