We had a very exciting parcel arrive for us full of bookmarks, books and a letter from the author who has written all the fabulous stories we are enjoying so much in Lower School at the moment. Have a look on Harry’s website for games to play and information about the books in the series http://www.harrythehappymouse.com. The books we have been reading are all about Harry The Happy Mouse and his family (have a look back at our earlier blog post).

We have turned our role play area into Harry’s cottage and the children have been doing lots of activities retelling the story ‘Harry The Happy Mouse’ using puppets and drama.

The children have been writing out the story in their own words and are now busy thinking of ideas for new adventures for Harry. Over the next week they will be creating and writing their new adventures ready to send their ideas to the author.

One phrase in the story we have learnt is ... ‘When you help someone else, it makes you feel grand! So, when someone needs help, just give them a hand!” we are putting that into practise every day just like Harry! Another phrase we are learning from the story ‘Harry’s Spooky Surprise’ is ‘Just two little words, it’s easy to do, Make someone happy by saying thank you!’ . So we would like to say thank you to Nathan the author, your kind gift has made us all very happy.

Have a look at these photos of our gifts and the children learning ...
