Good morning everyone,

Today's stars of the blog are our class teddies drying in the sunshine! Can you spot your favourites? The learning heroes are there, our reading buddies, our kindness hearts and our Scorch counting dragons! They have had a lovely hot bath in the washing machine and are super clean now. Some need a little visit to the teddy hospital  (my sewing kit) and then they are going to start their summer holiday early and stay at my house for a rest. Don't worry, I didn't hurt them pegging them on the line by their ears, I used nice soft pegs and they told me they didn't hurt!

Are you doing PE with Joe this morning?

Here are your activities to choose from today ...

Phonics (reading and spelling)

Reception and Year 1 children If you would like to do a page in your phonics workbooks (the ones made by CGP) please do so.

Don't forget to watch the episodes of Alphablocks on CBeebies to help you learn your sounds too.

Please try to spend 10 minutes (or more if you would like to) on a phonics activity to keep making your brains bigger and reminding yourself how to read and spell sounds. You can go on https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk or Teach Your Monster To Read https://www.teachyourmonstertoread.com (which is also available as an app).

Reading and Responding

Have you read any of the free ebooks on Oxford Owl recently? Which book has been your favourite so far?

Please look at the plans I sent to you on Thursday last week for this today's activities ...

Reception - Please choose one of the activities based on 'Down on the Farm'

Year 1 - Today you are going to listen one more time to the story That Rabbit Belongs to Emily Browne by Cressida Cowell, can you remember what the Queen offered Emily in return for Stanley?  You are going to write down the list of toys she offered to swap for Stanley or you could write a list of things of yours you would offer someone for a toy of theirs you might really want and would hope to tempt them to swap with you.

Year 2 - Today you are going to read together the opening extract from Horrid Henry Robs the Bank from the Tricky Tricks Collection. The your challenge is to introduce Henry to a board game and write a review.
