Good Morning everyone,
Miss Haynes is today's star of the blog! Miss Haynes lives in Blackpool and is able to walk to the beach to get her hour of exercise every day, isn't she lucky?
I hope you all had a lovely weekend. I did, my plants are growing so well in my greenhouse and I planted some of them out from their little pots into the ground, I feel very proud of them! It was Mrs Humphries's birthday yesterday so I hope she had a lovely day with her family I know they had planned lots of lovely treats for her.
Are you doing PE with Joe this morning, or are you exercising with your family on a walk or on your bikes? All types of exercise are great, if you get your muscles moving and use some energy it will put you in a really happy mood.
Phonics (reading and spelling)
Reception and Year 1 children If you would like to do a page in your phonics workbooks (the ones made by CGP) please do so.
Please try to spend 10 minutes (or more if you would like to) on a phonics activity to keep making your brains bigger and reminding yourself how to read and spell sounds. You can go on https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk or Teach Your Monster To Read https://www.teachyourmonstertoread.com (which is also available as an app).
Reading and Responding
Just like last week I am sending you the activities on an email as they are ones that Lancashire Professional Development Services have sent to teachers to use and are only available to Lancashire schools without a charge. If I was to publish the activities on here I would be giving them away to others, which I am not allowed to do!
Looking at the activities I have sent to you on an email ...
Reception - please choose from one of your activities for Spring Chicken. I think you are going to have lots of fun doing these activities this week.
Year 1- your activities are so fab today! You get to watch the trailer for 'The Secret Life Of Pets' and think about what our pets do when we are not at home. I love the part in the trailer where the Dachshund (the one that looks like Schnitzel Von Krumm) uses the food mixer to scratch his back I can just imagine Roger doing that when I am at school with you and he is home alone! You also read a book on Oxford Owl and do some writing about pets (don't worry if you don't have a pet you down have to have one to do the activity!).
Year 2- today you are going to read a poem about porcupines and then create a poster warning people of the dangers of porcupines! How cool! If you'd like to send me photos of your finished posters I will put them in a gallery on here and show them off to everyone - then you can teach everyone about porcupines.

Year One - Lesson 1 - Find a half (2)

You don't need to print the worksheets out, you can write the answers on a piece of paper or simply tell the adult you are working with the answers to the questions.
