Welcome back and welcome to the Summer Term!

I hope you have all had a fantastic rest and lots of fun at home with your families over the holidays. I have  been busy in my garden, I have read three whole grown up books (I say grown up because I read lots and lots of children's books too all the time as you know), had fun with my family, completed a reeeeeeaaaallly hard jigsaw and have taken Roger for lots of walks. I have also cleared my greenhouse out and have planted lots of seeds. I have planted radishes, carrots, lettuce, spinach, cucumbers, courgettes, tomatoes, raspberries and strawberries! I am watering them every day and looking after them, have any of you planted any seeds?

Thank you to Tyreece and Sophie who contacted me in the holidays, Tyreece sent me photos of a fabulous Easter card he had made for me and Sophie sent me two fantastic videos showing her doing a science experiment in her garden and then explaining the science learning to me - what super stars you both are!

Amber is today's star of the blog welcoming us back with her lovely 'Good Morning' photo! It is lovely to be greeted by your happy face Amber.

I hope you are still enjoying PE with Joe Wicks at 9am everyday and getting lots of exercise in your gardens.

Remember to stay safe on the internet- always have an adult with you when you are looking at a new site and if anything pops up on your screen that you are unsure of ALWAYS take it straight to and show an adult, don't click on any links.

You can go on https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk or Teach Your Monster To Read https://www.teachyourmonstertoread.com (which is also available as an app).

Reading and Responding

Please look at the emails I will have sent you and your parents. I am sending you the activities on an email as they are ones that Lancashire Professional Development Services have sent to teachers to use and are only available to Lancashire schools without a charge. If I was to publish the activities on here I would be giving them away to others, which I am not allowed to do!  Your English activities this week will be based around a book or an author for your Year Group. Don't worry all the books the activities are based around are available for you to access on the internet so it doesn't matter if you don't have the actual book at home!

Looking at the document I have sent to you on an email ...

Reception - please choose an activity from your 'Shark in the Park' by Nick Sharratt ideas

Year 1 - please do the activities for Day 1 from 'Hairy Maclary from Donaldson's Dairy' by Lynley Dodd

Maths

I am going to keep asking you to do the activities from the maths party at White Rose Maths Home Learning by clicking on this link https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/.  as this is learning I would be teaching you if we were in school together.

Choose your year group, watch the Flashback video first and answer the questions before you have a go at the activities.

Reception - Day 1 Supertato. All the activities can be done without the book but if you don't have a copy of Supertato by Sue Hendra at home you can watch the book being read on Youtube there are a few videos where people have recorded the story.

Year One - Lesson 1 - Make Doubles. Lots of fun with doubles, I would like you to practise making and saying what the double of a number is everyday so that you can learn them off by heart.

Year Two - Lesson 1 - Make three quarters.

You don't need to print the worksheets out, you can write the answers on a piece of paper or simply tell the adult you are working with the answers to the questions.

Please keep sending me your "Good Morning" photos it doesn't matter if you have already been a star of the blog you can be the star more than once by sending me another photo. We all LOVE seeing our friends on the screen. Have fun learning, stay at home and stay safe.
