Today we received a mention on BBC’s Springwatch Wild Academy! This has been a special broadcast delivered each day at 130 pm specifically for schools. As well as a daily quiz, children are invited to send in photos and drawings, as well as submitting questions to be answered by their experts.

On Monday, the episode was about the problem with plastics, and how they are harming wildlife. Following this episode, a group of concerned children in Upper School decided to go plastic picking around the school grounds. They were startled by the amount they collected, though thought it may have been so bad as it followed the Summer Fayre. We photographed the helpful children with their collection of plastics and sent it in to Springwatch in the hope that we might get a mention. We were overjoyed to have our photo shown within the first minute of today’s episode.

If you would like to watch it yourself, the episode is available on iPlayer.
