This week a lot of our writing has been inspired by the fabulous picture book 'Julian Is A Mermaid' by Jessica Love. we came into the classroom one morning to find a letter for us telling us to follow our dreams. 

We shared our hopes and dreams with each other before recording them on notelets shaped like shells.

Later in the week we listened to some music called The Aquarium from Saint-Saens's Carnival of the Animals suite and the children moved and danced around the room being different sea creatures they might see under water.  This inspired the children to write some great descriptive sentences when they wrote a postcard to Julian's Nana telling her of their adventures under the sea.
