This week, the children had a very exciting day of consolidating their knowledge about Ancient Egypt. We begun with some Egyptian mathematics! We learned all about the pyramids in Egypt and discussed why they were made the way that they were. We discussed different kinds of pyramids and which was strongest. Children made pyramids out of cocktail sticks to test which shape was the strongest.

After this, children learned about the Egyptian gods before designing their own.

in the afternoon, the children learned to write their name in hieroglyphs, writing them on paper and then outside on the walls like real ancient Egyptians! To finish the day, children created their own crafty Egyptian necklace using colours that the Egyptians often used.
