Over this half term, middle school have been busy learning about the Vikings and Anglo Saxons in Britain.
As part of our ongoing learning, we have mixed in a little DT and Art by creating our own Viking inspired shields.

The last day of the half term was Viking day! This meant that the children got to finally design and paint their shields. Once they had been beautifully coloured to represent ourselves, children learned some Viking battle tactics. This included how to charge, create a shield wall and how to flank your enemies.

Middle school then used their shields and their new battle knowledge to RAID LOWER SCHOOL! We heard that treasure was hiding, so we did as any good Viking raider would do! Poor lower school were shocked!

The children had immense fun together and loved involving lower school!
