The children in middle school had a very special RE lesson this week - we visited the church!
This was to go alongside our topic of exploring the church and the meanings behind it. We have already virtually explored some fantastic churches around the world, but it was time to visit our own!
Reverend Paul very kindly told us all about the features that a church has that makes it special and unique. We looked at the outside of the church and asked questions about the spire, the stained glass windows and even why there was so much beautiful nature around the building.
Inside, children found features such as the lectern, the pews and the pulpit to discuss. The children did incredibly well at discussing features in the church and had lots of mature observations to talk about.
There were lots of special features that contributed to the church being a special, peaceful and safe space for people to come and worship.
