Middle school used their STEM brains to complete a challenge - who could make the tallest tower using only sellotape and newspaper?
The children were put into groups with three roles: builders, engineers and architects.
The architects drew out the designs and ensured their team stuck to them.
The builders went to 'builder school' to learn how to use their newspaper to make stronger beams.
The engineers went to 'engineer school' to learn about which shapes and structures were the strongest.
The activity showed the children that we need people with lots of different skills and talents to work together as a team to achieve.
There was lots of wonderful STEM language including support, beams, structure, strength, weights
