What a jam-packed, amazing morning we had this morning when we visited Humblescough Farm in Nateby, Garstang.
Mr Sneddon, you are just fantastic! The children were so excited and enthusiastic to take part in all the activities and we all laughed and loved Mr Sneddon’s jokes and funny stories. Take a look at the photos below (there are a lot but as I said the morning was jam-packed!) We …
Trekked across fields stopping at gates taking care not to get turned into slimey slugs or go so far as to see the crocodiles with their buckets and spades (because if we did we would have gone too far and reached Blackpool)!
Took part in a story and sang songs around the fire circle.
Then we toasted marshmallows and had biscuits.
The children built dens that had to provide proper shelter to withstand water being thrown on them (see the photos). It was so lovely to see all the cooperation skills, creativity and teamwork happening.
We had more biscuits around the fire circle with a drink of juice.
We made wishes in the the wishing well near the Pixie House with special silver coins.
We made magic wands, clay gargoyles and all had a go at Tataki Zome and art technique of hitting leaves under a piece of white cloth with a stone and creating an image from the ‘juice’ of the leaf underneath.
We (well the children) climbed trees and played on the rope swings before we trekked back across the fields to wash our hands again before setting off back to school.
I heard the children say so many great things through the morning but apart from one little boy saying “I’ve never been on a coach before” with such wonder in his voice as we got on at school my favourite thing I heard was “this is the best day EVER, can we come here every day?”
Thank you to Mr Sneddon, Diana and thank you very much to Mr Proctor and Mrs Cadwallader our fantastic volunteers who accompanied us on the visit. I think there will be some happily tired children (and adults if they feel like me) having a great sleep tonight!
