Last week the children were surprised to find some lost penguins left in our classroom! They sparked lots of questions and the children recorded their questions learning how to use question words and draw question marks. It reminded me of the great story Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers so I read it to the children.
We noticed the great vocabulary in the story and the children spent time writing phrases to describe the penguin challenging themselves to use great adjectives.
Lost Penguin
The children were storytelling superstars this week as they worked in pairs to retell the story of the boy and the penguin in the story Lost and Found.
As they develop their knowledge of this story by acting it out and doing different drama activities focused on the story the children are building skills to be able to write their own version.
