We made the most of the good weather this week by taking lots of our learning outside. One activity our Reception did was a cross curricular number and understanding of the world activity as they scrubbed the babies clean in cold water and shampoo. The activity generated lots of discussion about the past and the present as we talked about the changes we see and experience as we grow. The children with younger siblings told each other lots about their baby brothers and sisters!
We counted, added more and less and even talked about doubles and halves as the children scooped the water with the small pots. We named numerals with the number sponges and had lots of splashing, fun and learning. The year 1 and 2 children show their knowledge of number by making numbers within 100 up to and beyond 1,000 using the number sponges!
