We have been having fun gathering knowledge for our stories set in the seaside this week. Each day we are choosing a different story from The Lighthouse Keeper’s set of stories and learning more about the main characters Mr and Mrs  Grinling, their cat Hamish and the lighthouse they look after. 

We have focused on the main character Mr Grinling and in these photographs you can see how the children had first written everything they already know about him before thinking about the things they wanted to find out about him. After talking about their ideas with each other the children thought of questions they could ask Mr Grinling to discover more about him. Then, in pairs, they acted in role as a news reporter asking Mr G the questions they’d thought of whilst the other child made up the answers in role as Mr G. 

The children were fantastic actors in role, we have a few comedians in Lower School! Take a look at these photos …
