Middle school enjoyed their world book day this year, exploring the theme of 'magic!'
The day began with a parade of all of the wonderful and creative outfits from across the school. We loved seeing how books had inspired children and hearing about why they had chosen their characters.
After the costume parade, children had a chance to create their own bookmarks based on their chosen character or book.
In the morning, children also spent some time creating their own magical character - we had a wonderful array of beasts, people and creatures from dragons to wizards and fairies.
In the afternoon, the children got the wonderful opportunity to pair up with either a year 5 or 6, or to read to a lower school child. They really enjoyed being able to share stories with each other.
After sharing our stories we made our own comic book strips retelling the ancient legend of King Arthur.
We had a wonderful day celebrating reading. Thank you all for your contributions!
