To continue with our Design Technology theme of designing a healthy sandwich, today we sampled some of the most popular sandwich ingredients to consider their taste and texture. Children sampled a small amount of
- White bread
- Brown bread
- Chicken
- Ham
- Lettuce
- Cheese
We considered the appearance, the taste and the texture of each of the ingredients as we tried them and recorded our thoughts. Next, we thought about how healthy we thought each of the ingredients would be and discussed how they would contribute to a healthy and balanced meal. 
Children tried some combinations of ingredients to see if they worked well together.

Many children found that they really enjoyed lettuce, voting it the most popular ingredient. Many children decided that they would like to use it in their sandwiches!
