Middle school have been learning about keeping fit and healthy in their Science lessons. This week, we looked at our skeleton.
We considered what our skeleton's job was and why it is the way it is. We looked at what the different bones in our bodies were called (with help of our science skeleton, affectionately name 'Mrs Skully') and why they are important.
We learned that we need calcium to help our bones develop and maintain strength and we discovered we can get this from lots of food groups, but especially in dairy.
As we drew out skeletons onto paper, the children soon discovered that they were quite tricky to draw and had lots of bits and pieces to them! However, we all managed to draw a fantastic skeleton by the end of the lesson and label them with some names of the bones in our bodies.
