The children got creative in their history lesson this week and created their own jewellery inspired by the Indus Valley Civilisation.
We began the lesson by looking at some of the archaeological findings from the area. We considered what materials they had available and how they might have gone about making their jewellery.
Many of the beads were made of clay or baked mud from this time and could have been painted bright colours.
We had a try at making our own necklaces in the same way - just like the craftspeople of the ancient Indus Valley did!
Children had a wonderful time moulding the beads, threading them and then painting them with interesting patterns and designs.
