As part of PSHE, we have been learning about money, specifically how people are paid and the kinds of deductions that are made to salaries. Using the example payslip, Year 5 and 6  have explored the terms used such as 'gross' and 'net'. They been learning about income tax, council tax and National Insurance and how the money collected is spent on important services, The children have been asking some sensible and mature questions. It's never too young to learn!
