The children had a very different day than usual on Thursday this week... They stepped back in time and enjoyed a dinosaur themed day!
We begun the day with a dinosaur maths themed treasure hunt using our outdoor spaces. The teams of children raced around to discover clues and solve the maths problems.
Secondly, we were lucky to be able to watch the BBC Live Lesson with Steve Backshall and the Natural History Museum and follow along in class. Children helped Steve to stop an evil fossil thief by solving puzzles about fossils and prehistoric life.

In the afternoon, the children learned about the different periods of the mesozoic era: the triassic, jurassic and cretaceous. They learned about what the earth was like, what plants were around and what life roamed the earth. The children created their own postcards imagining they had gone back in time to one of these periods and they described what they saw.
