This morning the children learnt to write news reports through inferring characters’ feeling from the story we are studying ‘The Lost Happy Endings’ by Carol Ann Duffy.

We used drama techniques such as hot seating a character and role playing reporter and interviewee conversations and making notes. Luke played the main character from the story, Jub, brilliantly and told us all how he had felt during the robbery of the happy endings. 
 

The children learnt the difference between direct speech and reported speech. They then wrote their reports which were excellent!
