Middle school have been investigating plants in their science lessons.
A few weeks earlier, we set up some different investigations to figure out what plants need to grow well.
Our first investigation was to see whether plants need light. We grew one plant in the window and one in the cupboard.
The one in the cupboard did not grow well at all, but the plant in the window did well!
Our second investigation was to see how much water plants needed.
We took three plants, we left one with no water, one with a normal amount of water and one with far too much water!
The one with no water dried up. The one with the normal amount of water did very well. The one with too much water was drooping and unhappy.
Our final investigation was weather a plant needed air. We put one plant into a sealed box and left another in the open air. The plant in the sealed box grew tall and spindly in order to reach a tiny hole of air.
Plant Investigation
Mrs Nash also had the great job of taking a small group to plant some outdoor plants in our planters. They did an excellent job and hopefully we will have beautiful flowers soon!
