The children have been using the Lake District as their case study for Geography.
We spent our last lesson considering the human geography aspect of tourism in the lake district and how it affects the area and the people who live there.
We learned some facts about tourists in the lake district and then heard some opinions from different sides of the argument.
The important question was asked - is tourism good for the Lake District?
The children split themselves based on opinion into two sides - for tourism and against tourism. Each group worked together to come up with interesting points to back up their opinions.
We then had a debate to decide what our opinions were.
The children did incredibly well at putting their opinions across and countering ones they didn't agree with.
In the end, an almost 100% decision showed that Middle school thought tourism was not good for the lake district.
Well done Middle School!
