This week we have been learning about the true meaning of Easter.
We discussed how we celebrate Easter with our families at home and how we usually visit Church together (sadly we cannot this year). We learnt the reason behind giving chocolate eggs to celebrate Easter is that the eggs represent new life.
Ada also said that eggs “are also a symbol of happiness so that people remember Jesus coming back”
When we were discussing why people traditionally eat hot cross buns Alex said “It’s from when Jesus died on the cross so we remember him”
We are celebrating by making a special Easter card to give to our families. They aren’t finished yet but here is a sneak preview ...

The Y1 & 2 children practised some design and technology skills folding and cutting paper, planning a design, altering their design as they made new decisions in the process. They had to solve problems:
- deciding where to place the flaps of grass so that they would not poke out of the card as it folded
- planning the height of the eggs to suit the design
- planning the height of the rabbit to fit into the card
They did did a great job and had fun ...
