Good Morning everyone Happy 1st of May!
The weeks do seem to whizz along and now it is Friday again! I hope you have enjoyed your learning at home this week well done for whatever you have managed to do. The stars of the blog today are Miss Haynes's chicks! They fit in beautifully with Reception's learning this week all around chickens! Are you doing PE with Joe this morning?
Phonics (reading and spelling)
Please try to spend 10 minutes (or more if you would like to) on a phonics activity to keep making your brains bigger and reminding yourself how to read and spell sounds. You can go on https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk or Teach Your Monster To Read https://www.teachyourmonstertoread.com (which is also available as an app).
Reception and Year 1 children If you would like to do a page in your phonics workbooks (the ones made by CGP) please do so.
Reading and Responding
Reception - please choose your final activity for Spring Chicken.
Year 1- Day 5 of your activities on your plan -Today you are going to talk and learn about how to take care of a pet, I know many of you will be great at this as you have your own pets at home and we have learnt about how to take care of animals in school. Then you are going to write a list of instructions telling us how to take care of a pet.
Year 2- Day 5 of your activities on your plan - Today you are going to talk about all the poems you have read this week and then choose your favourites. After this I would like you to practise performing your favourite poem, you could use your teddies and toys as your audience! Once we are back together in school you can perform your poem to the class if you would like to!
Next week your activities will be ...
Reception - Big, Bad Bugs! Explore and find out all about the incredible world of mini beasts. Read stories and facts to become a mini beast expert. I think you are really going to enjoy these activities Nathaniel, Maddison, Evelyn and Abigail!

Hello Lower School,
A very happy May to you all! This year is ticking by so fast. Today’s dotty date is 1.5.2020, we’ve moved into the 5th month of the year. Remind me, how many months are there in one year? Can you name them all? They’re proper nouns so they each need a capital letter don’t forget!
I’m so proud of all your learning and playing. Mrs.Kemp keeps me in the loop with all your fabulous activities. Doesn’t next week look fun?
Reception - Big, Bad Bug written by Roderick Hunt and illustrated by Nick Schon is available as an ebook on Oxford Owl. There are two games to play too!
Year One - Julia Donaldson’s Highway Rat has been made into an animated film and is available to watch on BBC iplayer.
Year Two - I am so excited to find out all about your recipes! Mrs. Billington drove by school this week and I waved at her through the window, she is missing you all and hopes you are all enjoying healthy meals at home.
The chicks look very happy to see you this morning don’t they? I miss seeing your smiling faces each morning though. So don’t forget to email photographs of your good morning messages to Mrs. Kemp so that you can be the stars of the blog too.
Have a lovely weekend. Stay home, stay safe and stay happy.
Miss.Haynes :-) x
