What a fantastic bunch of book lovers we are in Lower School! Thank you to our childrens’ parents and families for joining in the fun and finding costumes for your children to wear.
We had lots of fun reading with our friends, listening to stories and writing our very own books today.
The staff and volunteers in Lower School dressed as different characters from the Biff, Chip and Kipper stories from the Oxford Reading Tree Scheme. I dressed up as Mrs May the teacher, Mrs Allen was Biff, Miss Haynes was a very well behaved Floppy and Mrs Cadwallader was Gran.
We have been reading books about wolves as part of our English topic over the past few weeks and one we have enjoyed is called 'Good Little Wolf' by Nadia Shireen. We were really pleased to find that she is featured on the World Book Day website and appears in the author and illustrator masterclasses! We watched her clip 'bringing characters to life' (click this link to watch the clip) and followed her advice to create our own characters and write our own stories.
