We have had a busy first week back after half term with a lot of learning and fun happening in Lower School. This half term in EYFS the topic is 'At The Park' and the children were thrilled to see their new role play area which is Percy's Hut in the park based on the stories written by Nick Butterworth about the character Percy the Park Keeper. A special thank you to Mr Proctor for making a special Percy sized bed and to Mrs Proctor for making all the bedding and lots of the lovely props the children have to play with in EYFS. Please look through the photographs to see their learning below.
In Year One and Two our topic is 'Fire! Fire!' and we have started our learning by investigating what happened in The Gunpowder Plot. The children have been discussing how to stay safe on Bonfire Night and have really impressed me with their writing of instructions on 'How To Stay Safe On Bonfire Night'. After writing instructions nearer the beginning of term this was a little test to see if they could remember what makes a good instruction and they did by using bossy verbs and clear short sentences. Well done children!
Other news this week is that we have had a few birthdays to celebrate, William is 5 on the 3rd of November along with Mr Ross our site supervisor who will be 50 on the the 3rd! Today has been my birthday and so lovely to be in school and celebrate with the children. We were all very excited and celebrated with a few party games and birthday cake.
Thank you to everyone for all my special pictures and cards I will treasure them.
