On Monday, we were lucky enough to have a visit from Damian Harvey, a children's author who has written over 80 books. He read us some of his fantastic books and lead a writing workshop during which we worked collaboratively to create a character and setting for a story. 

Damian gave us some useful insights into how to ensure the story remains relevant and makes sense. We found it tempting to incorporate characters and settings from books and films that we already knew, but were encouraged to use our imagination to create our own unique story. 

Following his visit, we have been writing our stories and hope to send some to him to read!
