Last term our topic was Growth and Green Fingers and as part of our science learning all the Year 1 and 2 children planted a broad bean seed. We 'planted' the beans in old CD cases which gave us a fabulous opportunity to see the roots and shoot develop. The chidlren all kept a diary of the changes they observed over the weeks and as soon as the shoots were big enough they transerred them into small pots. Just before the Easter holidays all the children took their bean plants home to care for them.
We were thrilled to see George's first bean pod that has grown from his plant that he has cared for and planted at home. He even brought us a photo of himself stood next to his plant which is now taller than him.
Well done George, you are an excellent gardener and I am not surprised your plant has grown as you show us every day in school what a kind, considerate and caring boy you are.
