On October 6th, Upper School had an incredibly fun day at Hangar 42 Spitfire Centre. We learnt so much from the experts and the day was filled with opportunities to explore and find out new things. The topics covered were Codes and Ciphers, Aviation, Evacuees and the experiences of those involved in D-Day. Children were also extremely lucky to have the opportunity to sit in a real spitfire and imagine what it would have been like to be a pilot during WW2 (Mrs Allen also snuck in too!).

Back in school the following day, Upper School shared and compiled all of the knowledge they had. Mrs Allen and I, were completely staggered by the recall! Upper School also made links between their knowledge - old and new - and analysed the information they were sharing. All in all, the WW2 was a huge success for expanding knowledge and immersing our children into the topic further.

Thank you to the wonderful Mrs Cummings for supporting us on our trip and a huge thank you to our very generous Friends of Inskip for funding the trip for our children: we are very grateful to you all!
